Spirit,

I have had a disturbing proposition, and I wish you to
know of it and my decision. At the very least you
will have this information; perhaps you may also have
some advice.

The Tremere, Steven Millan, has offered me the "honor"
of partaking of Tremere blood; if I recall correctly,
this is the process of becoming a ghoul. I have
talked in private to Mattie Storin about her opinions
of such a choice, and have come to the conclusion
that, between the possibility of becoming enthralled,
my personal aversion to such an existence, and the
hints Steven dropped about the possibility of
"embrace", I would prefer not to take him up on the
offer.

I have learned, in my short time with this court, of
caution in dealing with powerful kindred (such as Ms.
Darke), and of "suggestions" which are a great deal
stronger than their wording makes them appear. This
is why I tender you this information, before I inform
Steven of my decision. Though I suspect Ezra Darke is
not one to act without much thought, there is the
possibility that, were Steven Millan to act brashly,
he would not be reprimanded by his elder -- and the
additional possibility that the rest of the court
might never find out.

Were the dangers to my person either greater or less,
I might consider flight -- but it is not an option at
this point. All I may hope is that you, in your
position of experience and influence, may have advice
for me and possibly a solution of sorts. Rest assured
that I would not approach you if I felt there were no
risk to my person, though I don't know many of the
kindred laws or tactics; I don't know what they might
do, or what may keep them from indulging in whim. I
do not know what the Prince's stance is on this,
though I knew Prince Feld's rules on kindred/mortal
conduct. I fear I may no longer be so protected.

I intend to inform Steven of my decision in (relative)
privacy at the next court session. You have my leave
to do anything about this situation you see as
necessary; I bow to your greater experience.

I hope to hear from you; I will see you at next court.
--Rebecca
