A young Tremere, who began his time in the court near the end of 1998. He was very much a traditionalist and very loyal to House and Clan, believing firmly in the superiority of the Tremere both to mortals and to other Kindred. He was quiet, preferring like most of his clan to stand in the background and watch, influencing things quietly, and bringing the other clans' fear and respect of the Tremere to bear when necessary. The person he respected most was his Regent and elder, Ezra Darke.
During the reign of Prince Jeremy Archdeacon, Steven was made the Tremere Primogen, at that time one of two Primogen in a small court. When Jeremy fled with his Seneschal and the other Primogen, Steven retained his position under the hastily-elected Prince Corianna Stancliff. He watched during the weeks she ruled as she lost respect and support; finally, when Corianna stepped down, Steven followed the urgings of Ezra and his own ambition, and presented himself as Prince.
The vote taken to choose between him and the other contender, Devon Ashmoore, ended in a landslide, with one token opposing vote. Steven took the reins of a court plagued with infighting, stagnant with apathy, and bearing the tattered remains of a broken treaty with the Garou. He gathered the few he trusted around him, and set to making it a court worth ruling over.
His description:
Steven is tall and slim; he stands a little over 6' tall, and weighs about 150 lbs. He has light brown hair, tied back, which falls to the middle of his back; an unconventional length for a Tremere, and perhaps a throwback to an earlier time. He has fair skin, and wears a short goatee and spectacles, sometimes sunglasses.
He dresses in semi-formal clothing: white shirt, slacks, and a vest, with a black leather trenchcoat and a grey fedora. His manner is quiet, occasionally almost hesitant, but there is a sense of strength hidden beneath the mannerisms.
His voice is a light baritone, sometimes breathy, tinged with wry humor.

An herbalist by trade, Rebecca had been trained in more than simple teas and salves. A practitioner of the ancient craft of alchemy, she was familiar with the magical properties and uses of the herbs she carried, and was very aware of occult society. A skeptic, Rebecca usually discounted any tales of supernaturals, but balked for only a moment when confronted with the court in its full manifestation.
Although she had originally come to the court seeking a distant family member, Rebecca stayed, despite the warnings of a fellow mortal that she was in danger of her life. Her curiosity drove her to find out what she could about these nonhumans, and she became an accepted fixture in the court, staying mostly in the shadows and venturing out only under the cover of e-mail.
A few people saw her as a resource in helping the court's interests, one being Teresa Garrison of Clan Ventrue (later known as Teresita Giovanni). Teresa pointed Rebecca in the direction of Steven Millan, trusting that their combined occult influence would net some information in a matter of some interest to Teresa herself: the possibility of a second set of primal orbs, very powerful magical artifacts which the court had encountered once before.
Nothing came to light on the orbs, but Steven's interest was drawn to the mortal, whose occult knowledge and magical abilities made her a very great asset in the eyes of the Tremere. Rebecca herself was still unsure of her safety in the court, and spoke to very few other than Steven, still tending to keep to the corners and out of direct attention. The Tremere were a few of the handful not hostile, and even helpful, and she was drawn more and more to them for aid and protection, as Jeremy's reign came on the court.
With Steven's ascension to the Princedom, Rebecca relaxed somewhat, feeling that for the first time since her arrival under Jeremy's predecessor, Feld, she was protected by the Prince. Her opinion was welcome, even sought, by the new Prince, and she felt that she had a place in the court, however unofficial.
Her description:
Rebecca Nelson is a fair-skinned, fairly nondescript woman in her late twenties. She is about 5'6" tall, looks to be about 140 pounds, and has a nice, though not spectacular, figure. Her hair is straight, medium-brown, and falls to her shoulderblades; she wears wire-rimmed glasses over brown eyes.
Often she will visit clients or conduct business wearing simply blue jeans and a blouse or long-sleeved shirt -- she takes full advantage of the fact that she owns her business and sets her own dress code. For more formal clients, she wears a skirt or slacks and dress shirt. Whenever possible, she will wear some sort of vest with her ensemble, sometimes quite colorful. Plain flats or sandals are all she will wear, unless she is required to wear boots for plant-collecting or hiking.
Her voice is deep and warm, sometimes as low as a man's, but with the soft overtones of femininity.

Regent of House Coriander in Berkeley, Ezra claims Ancilla status, being in reality seventy years too young to claim such a title in the ranks of Kindred society. Although only eighty, she had ascended to Regent among the Tremere, and attended the Berkeley court years before. She had taken the throne as Prince there, ruling for nearly a year, when the ill-fated court was destroyed, the Curse of Berkeley driving all supernaturals out of the city.
After regrouping, she attended the court of Contra Costa County, staying in the background and refusing to take a leading role in affairs. Prince Millan made her Harpy, a position she wielded with the calm confidence she approached most things.
As a Tremere, Ezra is unconventional; though mysterious and forbidding as most of her clan, when approached on a personal level she becomes quite personable and friendly, even caring. Those who claim her as a friend see her forgiving and sympathetic nature, so far from the cold discipline of the common Tremere. When crossed, however, she can be as ruthless and frightening as any stereotype of the Warlocks.
Her description:
Ezra is an elegant and calm individual. She stands 5'7" in height, with a medium-sized frame and build, and etched but smooth facial features; she appears to be in her early to mid-twenties. Chocolate brown hair hangs over her shoulders and is styled in a 50's manner; coifed, perfectly sculpted curls for bangs and cascading tendrils to match. Her eyes are a slightly lighter shade of brown than her hair, and she wears glasses of an almost outdated fashion. To give some a close visual example, think of Rachel from the movie "Bladerunner" (and add the spectacles).
Style of dress ranges to business, semi-formal, and slightly vintage. Flowing ankle-length dresses to an Americanized 17th century frenchcoat with ruffled shirt and riding boots are among her favorites. Silks and velvet are no strangers in the Tremere's wardrobe. Despite the posh taste, Ezra does seem to live in modest comfort -- she's clean, properly dressed, and simple. There are various charms hung from the long silver chain which she wears. These seem to give some comfort when she's particularly nervous.
Overall, Ezra's dressing demeanor is elegant, tasteful, and no-nonsense. Many are wary of her, but this does not seem to come from first-appearance impressions, rather the clan she is from.
